These initial stations are located at:

  • Hoskote (NH-75) — on the Bengaluru–Chennai highway

  • Murthal (NH-44) — around 50 km from Delhi

Each station comes equipped with dual 180 kW “dual-gun” chargers, allowing up to four EVs to charge simultaneously.

🗣 Official Word from Leadership

On X (formerly Twitter), the Chairman of Mahindra shared the milestone:

“We’re leading the ‘charge..’ Creating a high-speed EV charging backbone, one 180 kW charger at a time. Now inaugurating the first two CHARGE_iN stations, with a commitment to set up 1000 charging points by the end of 2027.”

This public announcement underlines Mahindra’s commitment to accelerating EV adoption and strengthening public charging infrastructure across India.

📈 What It Means for EV Users

  • The 180 kW chargers can juice up compatible EVs (like Mahindra’s own e-SUV lineup) from 20% to 80% in about 20 minutes — making long-distance EV travel more practical.
  • Beyond Mahindra vehicles: the Charge_IN network is open to EVs from all brands. Non-Mahindra EV owners can access the chargers via the “Charge_IN by Mahindra” app or through other aggregator platforms.
  • Stations will also be positioned along major highway corridors and co-located with rest-stop amenities (restaurants, cafés, etc.), so charging fits seamlessly into travel breaks — no long detours needed.

🔭 The Bigger Picture: Where the Network Is Headed

Mahindra plans to build 250 such fast-charging stations, aiming to roll out more than 1,000 charging points by the end of 2027 — thereby laying the groundwork for a nationwide, highway-ready EV charging backbone.

As said by company leadership, the goal is to make EV travel as convenient and reliable as conventional driving — helping overcome “range anxiety” and enabling long-distance EV journeys with ease.
